A Care Atlas for Pittsburgh and Allegheny County

Wellspring, our newest program, will develop a network of healers, advocates, and community members dedicated to strengthening the Black mental health ecosystem. Wellspring will map available resources, document the history of community healing, and build necessary coalitions to make care more visible, accessible, and culturally grounded in Allegheny County.

Wellspring is an original and bountiful source of something. The name Wellspring is an ode to the abundance of our historical/ancestral approaches to care and healing that we get to remember and reawaken through this process.

In 2026, Wellspring’s kickoff objective will be to lay the groundwork for the program via an initial community inquiry: What are we healing from? | What has happened to us? | How have we taken good care of ourselves? We invite you to help map the supports, challenges, and possibilities that shape the Black mental health ecosystem. Below, you will see 5 areas that influence the this ecosystem. Hover over the images to learn more.
